Spirit of God, Grant us the gifts of knowledge, understanding and wisdom that we may respond in faith to whatever you ask.
Spirit of God, grant us the gifts of right judgement and courage that we may choose correctly when making decisions about the way we live as followers of Jesus.
Spirit of God, grant us the gift of reverence and wonder so we never take you for granted, and always respond in prayer and action in bearing witness to Christ our Lord in our lives.
We pray for our students making their confirmation this Saturday. May it also remind us of the gifts that we have been given, to use them well and to work on those gifts that are still developing. Thank you to Father Sean, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Tuckwell, Miss O’Brien and Mrs Hamilton for the preparation of the students. We also thank the members of the liturgy group and their parents for giving up their time on Saturday.
Cross Country
Congratulations to Ruby Francis who came in second place at the Diocesan Cross Country last week. Ruby will now move on to the next level and we wish her well at that event.
NAPLAN
The annual National Assessment Program commenced today with our Year 3 & Year 5 students sitting the writing paper. Parents of students in these grades can help their children by trying not to stress them about the assessments, treat it as just another day as these assessments are just a snapshot of the student’s capabilities. Make sure however, that they aren’t late and have breakfast before they come. All students will need to ensure that they have their headphones with them each day and the Year 5 students bring their iPads fully charged. The testing will continue over this week and next.
Uniforms
Starting this week all students are required to wear winter uniforms.
Glassware
For the safety of everyone at St Michael's, a reminder that no glassware, including glass drink bottles and glass lunch boxes are allowed at school.
Have a lovely week everyone,
Kayleen Petzer

Keep up the wonderful work!

This Saturday Bishop Brian Mascord will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with our Year 6 candidates. The ceremony will take place starting at 2 pm (St Thomas Aquinas Church, Bowral). Candidates are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes beforehand and make their way to the side chapel. Families have each been assigned a pew in the Church. It should be a lovely occasion for the children and their families.
During the ceremony, parents of the candidates will stand and pray together:
Bishop Brian, having already presented our children to be born again in Christ through Baptism, we wish to further their initiation into the Catholic faith by presenting them now to share in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation. As Christian parents we wish to give them every help and encouragement we can, by our words and by our example, to practise the faith within the Church community.
This Thursday afternoon some children from the Liturgy Group who are able to help at the Confirmation Ceremony on Saturday will travel to Bowral for a rehearsal. We are very appreciative of the commitment and generosity of these children and their families.
Mr Richard Tuckwell, REC
It is essential that everybody who cares about Catholic schools understands these key issues, especially how our schools are funded. We encourage you to use this material and information to inform your vote and any discussions with your friends, family, community and local candidates.
We have started collection the Woolworths Earn & Learn stickers. We have collection boxes located outside Woolworths Mittagong and the school office.
Spare sticker sheets are available from the office. Please only place your stickers in the allocated spots on the sheets. We count full sheets, not individual stickers. If you have incomplete sheets or separate stickers, please send them to school and ask your child to place them in their class office bag.
Stickers can be collected until 25 June 2019.
Thank you for helping us out!

CAN YOU HELP?
We are after a volunteer to help out with the student banking in Term 3. The School Banking Co-ordinator is a volunteer and helps to facilitate the program at the school. Their role includes collecting deposits from students, facilitating the Rewards Program and depositing the money at their nearest Commonwealth Bank branch.
If you are able to help, please contact the school office. Training will be provided.Reaching for Korina
