Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Last weekends Gospel reading Matthew 25: 31-36 reminds us of how God wants us to treat one another, particularly those who are marginalised or disadvantaged.
We reflect on our relationships with one another but also with God. How can we better follow the lessons of Christ in our daily lives? How do we treat those who may be marginalised or disadvanteaged? We are told that the Lord requires us to do good deeds for others, and in doing so we are doing these good deeds for God.
At this time of the year we have an opportunity to reach out to others in need through donating to the St Vincent De Paul hamper appeal. I know Mrs Mitchell has already communicated items that might be brought into school to help those less fortunate. In reaching out to those on the margins we demonstrate our commitment of service to others through our faith.
Lord open our eyes to the struggles of the people we come into contact with on a regular basis. Help us to see people how You see them, that we might value each human life, as a priceless gift from You. Direct us in how You desire to use us, to seek justice, and show mercy to them.
It is hard to believe that three weeks have passed since starting here at St Michaels, filling in for Mrs West as she rests and recovers. What has stood out to me from the outset is the warmth and generosity of spirit demonstrated by both the students and the staff. The St Michael’s community has been welcoming and I want to pass on my thanks.
In regards to Mrs West, she is doing well and very much looking forward to being back at school as soon as she can. I want to advise you that Mrs West will need a little more recovery time than what was first anticipated and as a result she will extend her leave until the end of the year. I know that Mrs West plans on ‘popping in’ to some end of year school events and we look forward to seeing her soon.
I look forward to assisting the school celebrate all the usual end of year celebrations that occur at St Michael's.
Warmest regards,
Mr Mitchell Elks

Cake Donations for PnF Cake Stall
Each year the PnF runs a cake stall at the Christmas concert. All money raised from events like this goes in to help support our school with many resources. If you are able to donate cupcakes, cake or slices for the PnF cake stall at the christmas concert that would be greatly appreciated. All baked goods would need to be brought in to school on the 11th December. Thank you for continual support.

St Vincent DE Paul Christmas Appeal
From the 20th of November to Friday the 1st of December (Weeks 7 and 8), our school will start our annual St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal. This is such a special time of the year and sadly many families struggle to be able to feed their families over this time. These donations of non-perishable food items help St Vincent De Paul support people in our community who need help over the festive period.
Thank you for all of the kind and generous donation of items for our St Vincent De Paul Society Christmas Appeal so far. We still have another week to collect donations.
Please see the attached list of items list for each Year. These are some suggestions of items for each class but you are not limited to the items.
