TERM 3 WEEK 8 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents and families,
We start this newsletter with our thoughts and prayers for the families in our extended community who have been impacted by the recent accident in Buxton. May God give them comfort and hope.
RUOK DAY
This R U OK Day show 'There's more to say after R U OK '
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SOn-jqjbfQ
RUOK DAY is a National Day of recognition, however I know that in our community of St Michaels, this occurs everyday. People are kind and considerate and I truly value that as a special part of St Michaels. Thank you for being there for each other. It’s important to remember though, that everyone needs someone to be there for them.. Even just to listen.
PRAYER FOR R U OK? DAY 2022
We walk together in hope…
Just as Jesus walked with others and asked them what they needed
Today we pray that we may be guided by the Spirit to do the same.
We walk together in compassion…
We walk with those who feel lost,
overwhelmed or alone.
And we endeavour to create a space
where others can be real.
We walk together in love…
We listen, because people matter.
We walk with each other,
because connection matters.
And we ask “RUOK”, because we care.
We reach out…
We reach out in love to those we know.
We pray for those we cannot reach.
And we practice self-compassion,
as we carry our own pain.
We ask each other “R U OK?”
Leaving space for more to say.
We trust that God is walking with us
every step of the way
Whispering to our hearts,
“Do not be afraid, I am with you.”
We hold each other, today, in love.
And we are held in love by the Compassionate One.
Today we stand together, held in love.
AUSTRALIAN DENTAL HEALTH
Today we had a visit from the Australian Dental Health Unit. They were so helpful. The Dentists said to say thank you to the students who booked in for this service.

G DAY- GRANDPARENTS AND GREAT PEOPLE DAY
Words truly cannot express the amazing day that we were able to share with the grandparents and great people of our student community. It was such a joyful and “happy” emotional day for the visitors and I am sure you have all heard great stories from your children and family members about the day.
A couple of lovely remarks that have been made about the day are as follows:
"Congratulations to all the staff & helpers you were all amazing...
How proud we all are, our children are blessed to have such caring & talented teachers.

"Saint Michaels"I personally was very emotional" so beautiful, I certainly felt the love.....
A wonderful first GP day. Congratulations to all staff, helpers and the children for all your hard work and effort to create an amazing event, making everyone feel very welcome and special.
It was a fantastic day and congratulations to all of you for your dedication to the pupils by staff and volunteers.
Our first Grandparents Day and WOW it was amazing. From the moment we walked through the gate and were greated by young students, watching all the fantastic acts on stage, the morning tea and attending the book fair we realised what a truly wonderful school St Michaels is with caring and creative teachers that bring out the best in their students. Congrats on an amazing day St Michaels.
FRIDAY ASSEMBLIES- PARENTS CAN VIEW CONCERT ITEMS
As mentioned in a newsfeed earlier this week I have put snippets of the concert items on our St Michael's Facebook page for people who weren't there to have a look. We wanted to be able to share the concert items as best as possible with the parent community, so each week this term, we will showcase two classes' concert items at our Friday afternoon assembly for the parents to see.
This week, Kindergarten and Year 1 will each show their two items. Due to the additional items, our Assembly on Friday 9 September will commence at 2:15pm.

Feast Day of St Michael
The 29th of September each year we celebrate Saint Michael. Saint Michael is an Archangel and the leader of all angels and of the army of God. The title "Archangel" means, that he is above all the others in rank. St Michael has four major roles for God. The first is to defeat and repel Satan. The second is to escort the faithful to heaven at their hour of death. The third is to be a champion of all Christians, and the Church itself. And the fourth is to call men from life on Earth to their heavenly judgement.
On Friday 23rd September our school will celebrate St Michael’s Feast Day with a whole school Mass. It will be a lovely way to end the school term.
