SCHOOL MASS
Last Friday (12th February) we had our first school Mass for the year. It was a wonderful celebration for our school community, and although not everyone could attend, Mass was filmed for each class to watch this week. Year 6 were commissioned into their leadership roles as part of the Mission Group, Environment group, Sport group and Social group. Thank you to Father Sean and all of our wonderful staff for making this a lovely way to start our school year.

Year 6

SHROVE TUESDAY
“Shrove” comes from the word shrive and refers to the absolution of a penitent’s sins. The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is sometimes called “Shrove Tuesday” because of a Catholic custom of going to confession on that day in preparation for Lent. Pancakes are associated with Shrove Tuesday because they are a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk and sugar before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

ASH WEDNESDAY
Today our students attended a Liturgy for Ash Wednesday in the school Hall. Ash Wednesday Masses will also be held at St Thomas Aquinas Parish at Bowral. Mass times are at 7am and 7pm. All are welcome to attend but please register via the parish website. If you would like more information on Lenten obligations please visit https://www.ccsh.org.au/lent
