VEGE CORNER NEWS

2020 has seen our pods become a bountiful and beautiful selection of fruits, vegetables and herbs.  The pods are a productive and valuable living classroom for teachers and  students. Thank you to the helpful hands of our students and Mr Nash who have planned, planted, nurtured and maintained the vege pods.  The students love to taste and experience new flavours in the garden.

This year we have been growing different veggies and fruit in our vege pods. Some of these have been successful whilst others have been a little bit more challenging, like the Brussel sprouts. They’re growing uncontrollably which means we have more fruit and veg. Currently we are growing parsley, tomatoes, celery, strawberries and chives. During Summer, we planted and grew tomatoes, red onions, strawberries, chives, rhubarb and baby carrots. In Spring, we grew beetroot, parsley and celery. During Winter, we grew peas, broccolini, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. Each grade has a section in which they planted their vegetables in. We have had loads of fun planting and looking after these different veggies each day.
