REC Report

Mary MacKillop Feast Day
Next Friday, the 7th August St Michael’s will be celebrating the amazing life of St Mary MacKillop. Our feast day this year will be a day filled with exciting activities. We will start the day with a Liturgy. Students will then participate in “olden day” activities in the classroom, followed by a variety of games organised by our Year 6 class. Students will be able to dress up in old fashioned clothes. Students are asked to bring a donation of a gold coin to support the Maubara Orphanage in East Timor. These donations help support the children with shelter and education. It helps us connect with Mary MacKillop and her life works of educating and caring for children in need. It will be fantastic to see all our students dressed in old fashion clothes.

Feast Day

MASS
Be assured that in the Parish, every precaution is being observed to ensure the safety of those who come to Mass:  distancing is clearly marked in the Church and maintained during Mass; all of the liturgical restrictions are followed (Communion in the hand and no singing); the Church is cleaned after each Mass; registration of those who attend is carefully recorded; sanitising is practiced by all who enter the Church.  So, please, if you are well and able, do not be hesitant about coming to Mass.

Registration will open at 7.00 a.m. on Monday 27 July, 2020 (go to the website www.ccsh.org.au and press the link “Register Here” for Mass).

Mass

Please remember that all Masses will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, because of the social distancing requirements.

For the next two weekends Mass times will be:

Vigil Mass                      5.00 p.m.

Sunday                         8.00 a.m.

                                    9.30 a.m.

                                    5.00 p.m.

Weekday Masses for this week will be Tuesday and Wednesday only (no morning Mass on Thursday and Friday 30/31 July)

Weekday Masses beginning from the 4th August will be Tuesday - Friday at 8.00 a.m at St Thomas Aquinas, Bowral.

Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered from 4.15 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Saturday.

Father Sean will be on leave for the next two weeks and Monsignor David O’Brien will be present in the Parish for the next two weekends and for weekday Masses.  He has fulfilled many different roles in the Diocese and comes with great wisdom and experience.

Please remember Father Sean in your prayers on 4 August, Feast of St John Vianney, and the 36 year anniversary of his Ordination.

PARISH RAFFLE
The drawing of the raffle for the car has, for obvious reasons, been deferred to early 2021, but tickets remain on sale.  Please visit our website www.ccsh.org.au to buy tickets.  An ideal Christmas gift perhaps!
