School Administration
SUMMARY OF DIRECTIVES
1. No regular class teaching. Children who need to come to school will be supervised throughout the day as they complete their learning and not necessarily by their class teacher.
2. We encourage you to keep your children at home unless you need to work away from home and there is no one at home to look after your child.
3. If you work in essential services and work part time, please only send your child to school on the day you work.
4. All updates will be made via the Compass Parent Portal and Schoolzine app.
5. Once work is developed, the same work is available for students at home or at school. If you have not already done so, please arrange to collect your child's Learning From Home resource pack from the school office. If you are unable to attend the office, please call the school and we will arrange for the pack to be posted to you.
6. No canteen or student banking until further notice.
7. No music, drama or sport lessons.
8. For those children who will be attending school, we ask that for the safety of our children and staff, that you drop off and collect your child at the school gate. Please do not enter the school site except via the office.
COMPLETED WORK
Students completed work can be submitted online through Seesaw or Google Classroom. Photos could also be taken and emailed to the school.
We will accept paper copies of returned work, but we are trying to minimise these due to contact issues.
PHONE CALLS
During the next week, teachers will be making phone calls home to check on how your child is going with the learning from home platform, how you are and generally just keeping up community connections. On many occasions, these phone calls will be made from staff personal mobiles with no caller ID to protect the privacy of our teachers. When they leave their names on message bank, we ask that you then communicate with them via Seesaw or Google Classroom to let your teacher know how you are going. Or you can ring the school office and a message will be forwarded on.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
Students who are being kept home for the duration of this term due to COVID-19 and are engaging in work from home are marked on the roll as "Flexible". This is classed as being present (at home).
In order to reduce the risk of parents entering additional attendance notes which conflict with this code allocation the ability for parents to add attendance notes in Compass has been temporarily disabled. Instead, if a student is not accessing learning due to illness or any other reason the parent must email or call the school to inform them. The appropriate note and code will then be added to the student’s attendance record
