Communication
Staff use a variety of means to communicate with students. A number of classes across the school utilise digital technologies to assist with this. Please note that not all classes utilise these tools.
Google Classroom: Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and student. Mostly years 5-6 use this application.
SeeSaw: Students use built-in annotation tools to capture what they know in Seesaw’s digital portfolio. This portfolio allows teachers to integrate technology use within the classroom and to set specific activities for students. The great part about Seesaw is that it allows families to connect to their child’s portfolio and see the work their child has completed.
As these applications are considered communication tools they are established with students using the protocols set out in the Social Media Policy: https://www.dow.catholic.edu. au/about-us/policies/social- media-policy/
