NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. It is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait people.
This year’s theme is: Voice, Treaty, Truth.

Please join us for our NAIDOC celebrations on Friday commencing at 9am.

Aboriginal Lord’s Prayer.

You are our Father, You live in Heaven
We talk to You, Father, You are good.
We believe Your Word, Father, we Your children.
Give us bread today.
We have done wrong, we are sorry.
Help us Father, not to sin again.
Others have done wrong, to us
And we are sorry for them, Father today.
Stop us from doing wrong, Father.
Save us all from the evil one.
You are our Father, You live in Heaven.
We talk to You, Father, You are good.

Student Half Yearly Reports
Half yearly reports are released on Friday for Years 1-6 and interviews are currently conducted for Kindergarten. Please take the opportunity to talk about your children’s learning and celebrate their successes. Grade distribution charts will be available from the office from Monday for anyone who wishes to collect one. If you wish to discuss your child’s report with their teacher please make an appointment to see them.

Athletics Carnival
The new date for the athletics carnival is Tuesday 2nd July (with a further backup date of Tuesday 23rd July - Week 1 of Term 3).  Unfortunatley, due to insurance and legal requirements new notes need to be signed as transport is involved. New permission notes have been sent home and need to be returned to the school. Please do this promptly so that staff do not have to spend time making phone calls to get permission.

We currently have quite a lot of sickness going through the school. If your child is not well please keep them home to help stop the illness spreading to others.

I will be taking a week’s long service leave next week, Mrs West will be looking after the school in my absence.

Have a lovely week everyone,
Kayleen Petzer
